Theft and fraud investigation launched in Sunderland after bag stolen

Northumbria Police is investigating theft and fraud offences in Sunderland after a woman's bag was stolen by an offender.

Officers would like to trace a man following the incident, which took place in the Hylton Road area of the city.

A woman’s bag, containing bank cards and tobacco, was stolen – with one of the stolen cards being used on the same day at Uncle Sam’s convenience store on St Luke’s Terrace.

The theft happened shortly after 10.15pm on Friday, November 1.The force would like to speak to in relation to the investigation. He was in Uncle Sam’s at the time that the stolen card was used and could have valuable information that can assist police with inquiries.
