A TELEVISION was stolen from a house.

Thieves got into a home in Acona Street, Pallion, through an unlocked door before making off with the set, in the early hours of yesterday.

It comes as three cars, which were all unlocked, were broken into in the same area in recent days.

Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Pickett said: “While burglary has reduced significantly in the area, homeowners must make sure they lock doors and windows of their home, even if in but in another part of the house, and especially overnight.”

He added: “While we will continue to do all we can to identify offenders and have them arrested there are some simple crime prevention steps which can be taken to reduce the risk of falling victim to these opportunist thieves.”
