A TEENAGE boy remains in hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in an apparent hit-and-run incident in Sunderland.
The 14-year-old victim suffered a serious leg injury when he was hit by a grey or silver-coloured vehicle on Friday night, which failed to stop.
The boy had been crossing the carriageway at the junction of Washington Road and Hylton Lane at approximately 9pm when he was struck by the vehicle travelling eastbound.
Police say the teenager is still receiving treatment at Sunderland Royal Hospital for a serious leg injury, which is not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision to call Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191 quoting log number 1261 of 06/03/15.
