Teenager found stabbed in Sunderland

FOUR people were arrested after a teenager was stabbed in the neck outside a Sunderland University building.

The 16-year-old boy was found outside the Murray Library in Chester Road, Sunderland, just after 10.30pm yesterday, with what the police say is a small stab wound to his neck.

He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital where he received treatment for his injury, which is not considered life threatening.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested for causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 25-year-old man, a boy aged 14 and girl aged 17 were arrested for affray.

Northumbria Police say officers are continuing their inquiries in the area and offering reassurance to the local community.
