A SUSPECT may be charged with the horrific 1985 riot murder of Sunderland Pc Keith Blakelock.
The Crown Porsecution Service today said: “There’s a file under consideration but no decision’s been made.”
Pc Blakelock, 40, originally from Wearside, was hacked to death by a machete mob on Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham, North London, in October 1985.
Six people went on trial for murder in 1987.
Three youths were cleared. Three men were convicted but later had the verdicts quashed.
