A MAN and woman accused of a string of sex offences including a child will have their case heard at Newcastle Crown Court.

Raymond Fisher, 67, and Rachael Hoben, 43, appeared at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court facing allegations dating back to between June 2011 and June 2013.

Fisher, who gave his address as a caravan in Brasside, County Durham, has been charged with eight offences of sexual activity with a child.

Hoben, of Norfolk Street, Sunderland, faces two counts of engaging in sexual activity in front of a child and two of arranging a child sex offence.

The alleged victim, who was 14 at the time of the offences, cannot be named for legal reasons.

Magistrates in Sunderland ruled the case was too serious for them to deal with and sent it to
Newcastle Crown Court, where it will be heard on May 28.

Fisher and Hoben were released on bail until then on the condition that they live and sleep at their home addresses, and do not
contact prosecution witnesses.
