A THUG who claims to get sexual pleasure from stabbing people has been jailed indefinitely.

Aaron Cummings told a court he gets aroused by violence after slashing a love rival’s face open.

Aaron Cummings, 33, of Villette Path, Hendon.

The 32-year-old, who claims to have knifed multiple victims in the past, will not be released until he is deemed safe to be back on the streets.

Cummings, of Villette Path, Hendon, Sunderland, was at Newcastle Crown Court to be sentenced for an attack in which he cut Paul Corkin’s face with a Stanley blade.

Mr Corkin, who needed 40 stitches to a wound running from his lower lip to his chin, had recently started a relationship with Cummings’ ex-girlfriend when the attack happened.

Prosecutor Penny Moreland told the court: “The cause of this seems to have been Mr Cummings’ anger that his ex-girlfriend had formed a new relationship.

“It was a very unpleasant wound. It was a sustained attack, the victim speaks of at least six attempts to slash at him.”

Cummings admitted wounding with intent in relation to the attack.

A psychiatrist had been asked to prepare a report on Cummings while he was on remand.

Extracts of the report said: “He reports having stabbed six people in the previous two weeks. He repeatedly suffers from hearing voices urging him to do violence to those around him.

“He gets sexual satisfaction from violence, sexually aroused by violence, that is apart from hearing the voices.”

Mr Recorder William Lowe said Cummings must serve a minimum of three years, less the time he has already spent on remand, before he can even apply for parole.

The judge said: “There is reference in 2008 of a fascination with knives, sexual pleasure from stabbing people and from being assaulted.

“His notes refer to voices telling him he needed to kill.

“He has claimed to have stabbed a number of people where the matters were not reported to the police.

“The doctor said ‘he is fascinated with weapons and sexually aroused by violence’.

“The doctor clearly takes the view that this defendant is dangerous.”

Jamie Adams, defending, said despite Cummings’ boasts, and the seriousness of the offence, he does not have a record for serious violent offences.
