Sunderland thief’s act of revenge

Have your say

A THIEF who stole electrical goods from a house as an “act of revenge” has been spared jail.

Gary Tiffen took a couple’s belongings from their home as a result of some earlier trouble.

Tiffen, 22, of Tollerton Drive, Castletown, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to theft and criminal damage.

Judge James Goss QC sentenced him to a community order for 12 months with 80 hours’ unpaid work and £200 costs.

The judge told him: “Don’t do anything stupid like this again.”
