A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court after he was charged with eight driving offences.
At around 8pm on Thursday, police received a number of reports of a car being driven dangerously in the Ryhope area.
Motor Patrols officers responded and a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
The investigation was handed to the Operation Dragoon road safety team and inquiries carried out.
The 17-year-old, who is from the Sunderland area, has been charged with eight driving offences - including two counts of dangerous driving.
He appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court today, where he was remanded in custody to appear again on July 30.
Operation Dragoon is Northumbria Police’s road safety operation aimed at keeping the roads safe for everyone.
