Sunderland police hunting chainsaw thieves

POLICE are hunting crooks who broke into a van and stole hundreds of pounds worth of tools from inside.

The thieves forced their way into a Renault van, parked in Belstone Court, in Silksworth, between 10.30pm on Sunday, and 7am, yesterday.

Five Stihl chainsaws and a leaf blower were stolen before they made off unseen.

Officers are asking for anyone who saw anything suspicious or may have been offered to buy the items, to get in touch.
