Sunderland mental health patient found with drugs

A MENTAL health patient was arrested after being found with drugs.

Steven Stanbridge, of Tatham Street, Sunderland, was an inpatient at Bede Wing in the grounds of South Tyneside District Hospital when police smelled cannabis coming from his room during a routine check. Officers also found some white powder.

Stanbridge, 20, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing Class B drugs at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court and was given a six-month conditional discharge.
