Sunderland man remanded in custody after denying attack charge

A Sunderland man has been remanded in custody after denying assaulting a woman, putting her in fear of violence and causing criminal damage to a door in her home.

Glen Scrafton, 29, of Grizedale Court, Seaburn, Sunderland, was denied bail after an application at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court by solicitor Jason Smith.

He is accused of committing the offences at an address in Atlantis Road, Farringdon, Sunderland, on Thursday, May 28.

Scrafton will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Friday, June 26.
