A SUNDERLAND man admitted defrauding nurseries of thousands of pounds.

Daniel Watson ran up fees for the care of his two children at nurseries in County Durham and Wearside, a court heard.

“It appears he had no intention to pay the bills,” prosecutor Kate Dodds told Durham Crown Court.

Watson, 32, of Ormonde Street, High Barnes, admitted seven charges of fraud between August 2009, and July 2012.

Judge Christopher Prince adjourned passing sentence until November 14 to give the prosecution time to calculate the exact loss to the nurseries.

Watson was remanded in custody.
