PARENTS are being urged to keep their children safe in cyberspace, as figures reveal four reports of internet abuse are reported every day.
As more children log online, the UK’s national centre for child protection, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (Ceop) Centre, is calling on Wearside parents to keep their children safe.
Peter Davies, Ceop boss, said: “Now is a time when so many children are at home online, often using new technology to explore areas of the internet for the very first time and it’s at this time when things can go so wrong.
“So we’re saying have fun online and enjoy the benefits the internet can bring, but in these early stages we ask parents to talk to their child and make sure their online safety is built in to everything they do.”
