Robbers threatened shop worker with scissors in Sunderland raid

TWO men threatened staff with a pair of scissors in a raid on a convenience store.

The incident happened last night at about 8.15pm at the News 2000 in Roker Avenue, Sunderland.

The pair went into the shop, one armed with a pair or scissors, and threatened a staff member before stealing a small amount of cash.

The staff member confronted the pair but they made off to the back of the shop. The shop member was not injured in the incident but was left shaken.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about who is responsible to contact them on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 1264 09/03/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
