Revealed: The latest crime hot spots across the south of Sunderland

The latest crime hot spots across the south of Sunderland have been revealed following the publication of new figures.

Some of the streets where most crime is reported to be taking place across the south of Sunderland, according to latest figures.

The Home Office data, published on its www.police.uk website, covers Northumbria Police’s Sunderland West, Sunderland East and Sunderland Central policing neighbourhoods. All incidents are said to have taken place “on or near” named locations in December 2020. City centre streets are not included in this table. November 2020’s statistics for the south of Sunderland are available here.

Seventeen incidents, including eight violence and sexual offences (classed together) and three anti-social behaviour offences, were reported to have taken place "on or near" this location.

The number of crimes reported to Northumbria Police across the Sunderland East, West and Central policing neighbourhoods, including city centre streets, was 1,406 in December 2020. This compares to 1,600 in November 2020 and 1,477 in December 2019.
The Home Office stresses on its www.police.uk website that locations "are only an approximation of where the actual crimes occurred, they are not the exact locations" and that incidents may on occasion have taken place "within a 1 mile radius".
