Reports of 'disturbance' in Sunderland street as police called to scene

Police officers were called to a Sunderland street following reports of people using ‘threatening behaviour’ at the scene.

The incident took place shortly before 3pm on Tuesday, November 3 on Tadcaster Road in Thorney Close, Sunderland.

In a statement, the force said it received a report about a group of individuals reported to be using threatening behaviour in the street.

It is believed that the people involved are known to each other, police said. Two vehicles were also spotted leaving the scene.

An investigation has now been launched to locate those involved.

“It was reported that a group of individuals believed to be known to each other were using threatening behaviour in the street before two vehicles left the scene. Nobody has been reported as injured.

“An investigation is ongoing to trace those involved.”
