Remains of cannabis farm found at Sunderland house

Police have uncovered the remnants of a drugs farm at a house on Wearside.

Officers were called after two men were seen breaking into a property on Front Road, in Ford Estate, on Monday night.

Police then found the remains of what appears to be a cannabis farm inside.

No-one has been arrested following the discovery, but officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information regarding the incident.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “At around 7.50pm on Monday, police were called to an address in Front Road, Ford Estate, Sunderland, after two men were seen breaking into a property.

“Officers attended and the remnants of a cannabis farm were found.

“Enquiries are ongoing and any witnesses should ring Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference number 1054 20/02/17 or Crimstoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
