Police still on trace of attempted dog snatchers

DETECTIVES trying to trace men who attempted to snatch a woman’s dogs from her grasp have released descriptions of the suspects.

The 25-year-old was with her two Staffordshire bull terriers on the Old Knack former pit site of Stockton Road, Seaham, when she was approached by the pair.

She was kicked and verbally abused during the confrontation, which happened at about 2.20pm on Monday, May 20.

The dogs suffered bruising.

Police said both men spoke with local accents.

The first was 5ft 9ins tall, slim, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, tanned with scars or acne on his face and short dark hair.

He wore a black and grey long-sleeved hooded top with a Puma logo, black waterproof jacket, dark tracksuit bottoms, and dark blue trainers which are believed to have been Nike Airmax.

The second man was about 5ft 11ins, similar age and build, with a light complexion with gaunt features.

He wore a black baseball cap, blue Adidas long-sleeved hooded top and bottoms, with lighter blue stripes on the trousers, and light trainers.
