Police say three burglaries in Sunderland may be linked

THREE burglaries which took place in Fulwell and Seaburn during cup final weekend are believed to be linked.

The first happened in between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on Saturday, when burglars caused damage to a window and patio door in Dene Lane, Seaburn.

And between 8.30am and 8.15pm, the same day, thieves made off with jewellery and cash after breaking into a property in East Grange, Fulwell.

A third house, in Dorking Road, Fulwell, was targeted between 7.45am and 6.55pm the following day. Jewellery and cash were stolen.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area to make enuiries and prevent further incidents.

Neighbourhood Inspector Tony Carty said: “We understand the concern being broken into causes and are committed to ensuring those responsible are caught and put before the courts.

“Information we receive from members of the public is crucial and we would urge anyone with any information about anything that seems suspicious or if anyone has any information about these burglaries, or those responsible, to get in contact.”
