Police name man killed in Washington as Bryan Knox

POLICE have officially named the man killed at the weekend as Bryan Jeffrey Knox.

The 32-year-old from the Barmston area of Washington was found at Usworth Hall in the Stephenson area at 10.49am yesterday.

A post mortem examination has been carried out and established he died of pressure to the neck.

A 36-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody helping with enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

DI Andy Fairlamb said: “We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area, anyone driving or walking past from about 10.30am onwards, who saw what happened, or anyone who has information about the incident to get in touch as soon as possible.”
