Police hunt thieves after motorbike is stolen in Houghton

Police have launched an appeal for information after thieves stole a motorbike from a Wearside home - which its owner had owned for just one week.

The Triumph Herald bike, which was securely locked, was taken from the rear yard of a property in Chilton Moor, Houghton, between 6pm on Sunday, August 16 and 6.45am on Monday, August 17.

The victim has only had the bike for one week before it was taken and is keen to have it returned.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact them.

Police patrols have been stepped up to target offenders.
