Police are hunting a flasher who exposed himself to a woman in a Sunderland shopping centre.

The 20-year-old woman was in Pennywell Shopping Centre between 6.10pm and 6.20pm on Sunday when the man exposed himself.

He is described as white, of thin build and around 5ft 10 inches tall.

He was wearing a dark coloured coat or jacket with the hood pulled up around his face, only a thick set of eyebrows could be seen.

He was also wearing dark coloured tracksuit bottoms with white trainers with red bits on them. He spoke with a local accent.

Police say the man did not attempt to touch the woman.

Extra officers have been in the area carrying out enquiries into the incident and are continuing to appeal for witnesses.
