Police crackdown on Sunderland burglars brings two more arrests

A FURTHER two people have been arrested as part of a crackdown on burglars.

The pair, aged 21 and 31, were arrested during dawn raids yesterday as part of Operation Predator, aimed at netting burglars across Sunderland.

Officers raided addresses in Ashbrooke as part of the operation, which will continue for the next 10 weeks.

Detective Inspector Mark Ord said: “We want to send a clear message that burglars are not welcome in our city.

“We will not hesitate to take robust action against those suspected of being involved in burglaries.”

As part of Operation Predator, a dedicated team of officers has been set up to deal with burglaries.
