Northumbria Police have confirmed that they were called to an incident at the EE store in The Bridges Shopping Centre, Sunderland.

It happened yesterday (Tuesday, June 23) at around 4.30pm after officers received reports over concerns of the welfare of a woman.

Police were called to the EE store in The Bridges at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, June 23.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the lady in distress and called for medical service.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 4.30pm yesterday (Tuesday) we received a report of concern for a female in the EE store in The Bridges, Sunderland.

“Emergency services attended and found a woman in distress. She was offered support and left in the care of medical experts.”
