Police called to civic centre car park amid reports of anti-social behaviour by youths

Police are warning youths who cause disorder in the city centre that they will be ‘dealt with appropriately’ after reports of disturbance in the civic centre car park.

Sunderland police tweeted on Thursday evening and said the force has received a number of reports of youths causing anti social behaviour in the civic centre car park.

Ravers planning to attend an the “abandoned car park rave” in Sunderland were warned by Northumbria police that rule breakers could be fined.

Sunderland police warned youths they would be ‘dealt with appropriately’ on Thursday.

The tweet said: “We are receiving a number of reports of youths causing anti social behaviour in the civic centre car park.

"Please be advised that any youths stopped in the city centre causing disorder will be dealt with appropriately.”

Under current lockdown restrictions anyone found to be outside of their home without a 'reasonable excuse' can be fined by police.
