DETECTIVES are currently quizzing two men after pensioners were attacked in their own home.

Police today arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary and a 38-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated burglary after Saturday’s attack.

At about 8.40pm, three men stormed into a house on Prince’s Gardens in Seaburn when they threatened a 74-year-old woman and hit her 76-year-old husband over the head, causing him to need stitches.

A large amount of cash was then stolen.

The men are helping police with their inquiries.
