Police appeal after Sunderland man robbed in Metro subway

Police are appealing for information after a robbery in Sunderland.

It happened between 12.45pm and 2pm on Monday, August 11, at the subway under South Hylton Metro.

A 22-year-old man was pushed over by two men, who stole cash from him.

The man was left shaken and is said to have suffered minor injuries.

The first offender is described as being a white man, 5ft 11in-tall, of large build and was wearing a white and green vest. He had missing teeth and a tribal tattoo on his arm.

The second is described as a white man, 5ft 11in-tall, of large build and was aged in his 20s. He was wearing a dark coloured Adidas top and Henleys blue jeans.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “Officers have carried out enquiries in the area and are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.”
