Pictures show the damage caused by vandals who drove across Washington AFC’s football pitches leaving a trail of destruction for the second time in just a few months.
In October, head of football Gary Sykes arrived to find a similar scene at the club’s ground on Stephenson Road, Washington, after the first incident of vandalism.

Posting about the damage on Facebook, Washington AFC say the police have launched an investigation and say officers have video evidence.
A spokesman said: “We have been down today (December 27) to assess the state of the pitches after the Christmas Eves antics - the damage is worse than we thought!
“The police are handling the investigation and now have video evidence.

The club first became aware of the damage on Christmas Eve and a car was left abandoned on one of the pitches.
A Go Fund Me page, which was set up by Washington Deaf FC after the first incident, has gained traction again as the club hopes to raise £8,000 to fence all the pitches in the hope of stopping future acts of vandalism.
More than £1,500 has been raised so far and to donate click here.
