Firefighters have condemned the actions of deliberate fire starters who are putting ‘people at risk’ following a spate of attacks in the Pallion area of Sunderland.

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service has released a series of shocking pictures showing the damage caused by deliberate fires.

It comes following a spate of fires recently which have been deliberately set in the Pallion area.

Firefighters are now appealing for anyone who has any information about any deliberate fire starting to report it.

A fire brigade spokesman said: “These photos show the damage caused by recent deliberate fires in the Pallion area of Sunderland.

“Fires like these are not only harmful to the environment, they also put people at risk because our crews can't be in two places at once.
