OFFICERS have proved they have the wow factor after scooping an award for helping problem families turn their lives around.
PCSOs Andrea Leigh and Paul Pringle were nominated for a Wow award by the Family Intervention Project for the help they have given to its efforts in Easington Colliery and Easington Village.
The helps residents with a range of problems, from parenting skills to helping boost job prospects.
Officers were presented with their certificates by Durham police Assistant Chief Constable Michael Banks.
PCSO Leigh said: “We felt we were just doing our jobs really. We didn’t think we had done anything special. We just care about what we do.
“But it was really nice to be nominated and for them to say we’d gone that extra mile.”
Easington Sergeant Paul Footes added: “I’m absolutely over the moon because these two officers fully deserve it.
“They work really hard. People throughout the community know them and they do a great job.”
WOW is a nationally-run scheme that rewards those who give great customer service.
