Muggers snatched cash from teenager

POLICE are hunting three men after a teenager had a £5 note snatched from his hand.

At about 5.50pm on Friday, March 22, the group approached a 13-year-old boy outside the Premier Store in Southwick, Sunderland, and one of the men stole the cash out of the boy’s hand.

Officers said the theft left the boy shaken but uninjured.

The offender is described as being white, medium build, aged between 20 to 30 and had short brown or black hair brushed forward.

He was wearing a tracksuit. The two other men were wearing dark clothing and one was wearing a bodywarmer.

Police believe the men had been drinking. After the theft happened, they went into the Coral bookmakers nearby.

Anyone who was in the area around the time of the theft and who saw anything is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
