POLICE are appealing for information after a van window was smashed by a missile lobbed from a car – while both vehicles were moving.

It happened at 3.10pm on Wednesday, January 21, when the drivers of a Renault Kangoo van and a grey Vauxhall Astra became involved in a disturbance.

It started on the Queen Alexandra Bridge, and ended on the Wessington Way roundabout which leads to McDonald’s when a passenger in the car threw a large metal object through the passenger window of the van while both vehicles were still moving.

No-one was injured. It’s believed there was a lot of traffic along that route at the time and a taxi driver had initially stopped to speak to the driver of the van, a man aged 39, after his window was smashed.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident – in particular the taxi driver – to get in touch with police. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 598 21/01/15.
