Men stabbed in Sunderland

TWO men are in hospital today with stab wounds after an incident in Sunderland.

The men, aged 23 and 30, were found in Carley Road, Southwick, at about 7.45pm yesterday.

They were taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital, where their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A 19-year-old was arrested in connection with the assault and remains in custody.

Northumbria Police, who have appealed for witnesses, say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this stage.
