MEN arrested as part of an inquiry into sexual offences and harassment claims have been bailed as investigations continue.
Raids were carried out on Tuesday morning at addresses in Peterlee, Easington Village and Easington Colliery, as well as in New Brancepeth and Langley Moor near Durham, as part of an operation by Durham Constabulary.
Two homes in Easington Street and another in Seaside Lane in Easington Colliery, and one in Herton Close in Peterlee, were among them.
Five men, aged between 26 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of sexual offences and harassment.
They have been released on bail until a date in March after they were interviewed by police.
The force said the probe was launched following information which was passed on from residents.
It has urged any victims of sex abuse to seek support, whether or not its reported to the police.
