THIEVES stole medication from outside a Wearside home.

Two small suitcases containing the drugs were taken from a driveway in St Georges Estate in Harraton.

A Nothumbria Police spokeswoman said: “It has been established that one of the cases contained medication which is in labelled bottles as well as clear plastic daily dispense packs.”

Some of the medication includes lithium carbonate, olanzapine, diltiazem and levothyroxine.

The incident happened between 8.15am and 8.30am on Friday, November 16.

Police are warning people that taking medication that is not prescribed to them could have a serious effect on their health and if they find the medication they should contact police immediately.

Anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of the medication or the theft itself is urged to contact Northumbria Police on 101.
