Man unconcious after street attack outside Sunderland pub

A MAN was rushed to hospital after he was attacked outside a city centre pub.

The 28-year-old is believed to have been knocked unconscious in the assault near The Borough, in Vine Place, Sunderland.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 11.10pm on Sunday.

He was taken to hospital, although his injuries were described as “not life threatening”.

A 43-year-old man and 41-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the attack and are helping police with their inquiries.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “Anyone who was in Vine Place at the time and saw what happened is asked to contact police.”
