Man suffers broken jaw in brawl

A DRINKER has been left with a suspected fracture to his skull and other injuries in a pub attack.

The victim also sustained a broken jaw and lost a number of teeth in the incident, which happened in the foyer of the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Low Row, Easington Village.

Detectives leading the inquiry say a number of customers in the pub at the time of the incident, which happened at 11.45pm on Friday, rushed to help the man and could have information which could help their investigation.

They offered the victim, who lives nearby an is in his early 20s, first aid until an ambulance arrived.

A man in his late 30s was arrested on suspicion of malicious wounding and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
