A MAN was stabbed during a violent street attack.
The 43-year-old was walking down Lewis Crescent, Hendon, when he was attacked.
It is believed another man stabbed him after a row broke out.
He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital where he was treated for his injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
He remains in custody where he is being quizzed by detectives.
A 47-year-old woman was also arrested in relation to the incident, which happened at 5.05pm on Sunday, but has been released with no further action.
Neighbourhood Inspector John Connolly, said: “It would appear that this was a dispute between people who know each other.”
