Man’s nose and ear bitten in Sunderland street attack

A MAN had his nose and ear bitten after a pub brawl spilled out on to the street.

The 43-year-old victim was attacked in a back lane at Haydon Square, Hylton Road estate, after an earlier row in the Round Robin pub, in Hylton Road.

The offender is believed to have attacked the man as he walked along the lane, biting his nose and ear.

The victim was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital for stitches.

Detective Constable Simon Dobson said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the Round Robin pub that night and who witnessed any men arguing.

“It was a Saturday evening so the pub would have been busy and people could potentially have valuable information to help with our inquiries.”

The attack happened at 9.30pm on Saturday, August 28. Police have only just released details.
