Man left injured after he confronts two intruders in farm outbuilding

Two attackers who left a man hurt after he confronted them in a farm outbuilding are being hunted by police.

Durham Constabulary has launched a search for the pair following the suspected assault at South Sharpley Farm, near Seaham.

A 38-year-old man is said to have confronted an intruder in an outbuilding and was then struck from behind by a second intruder, causing injury to his back, with both suspects then running off.

One of the suspects is described as around 6ft 2ins, in his late 20s, with short “mousey” coloured hair, and was wearing a cream coat with grey jogging bottoms.

The incident took place at around 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 1, at the farm, which is off Salter's Lane, which links the B1404 Seaton Lane near Seaham and the B1285 between Hetton and Murton.

Anybody with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Durham Police on 101, quoting incident number 366 of April 1.
