Man fighting for life after Sunderland takeaway attack

A MAN is fighting for his life after being attacked inside a city takeaway.

The 28-year-old was assaulted at 2.13am last Tuesday, February 10, inside the Red Chilli takeaway in Holmeside in the city centre.

Police subsequently received information from Sunderland Royal Hospital that the man was receiving hospital treatment and his condition is now believed to be potentially life threatening.

A glass pane of a door at the takeaway was also damaged in the incident.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the assault or for those involved to get in touch with police on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 77 10/02/15, or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
