A TRIAL date has been set for a man accused of causing £86,000 of damage to two houses when a cannabis farm caught fire.
Dean Day, 30, did not enter a plea to two charges of criminal damage during a short preliminary hearing at Durham Crown Court.
The charges relate to February last year when a house in which Day was living in Dunelm Walk, Peterlee.
The blaze spread and damaged the adjoining house.
The case was adjourned for a plea hearing on September 24 and a provisional trial date was set for the week commencing October 14.
Day, now of Station House, Murton, was released on bail.
