Man to face trial charged with running a brothel in Sunderland

A man will go on trial after pleading not guilty to running a brothel in Sunderland.

Prosecutors allege Jonathan Cook, 48, of Coldwell Terrace, Gateshead, ran the illegal abode at a property in The Croft, Thornholme Road, close to Ashbrooke.

At South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court, Cook pleaded not guilty to a charge of permitting use of a premises as a brothel, between June 1 and September 24 last year.

His trial will take place at Gateshead Magistrates’ Court on May 19.
