Man due to appear in court charged with the manslaughter of Sunderland man Jordan Bell

Jordan Bell, 27, was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries after he was found lying outside a night club in Holmeside in the city centre just before 9pm on Friday, July 10.

He remained in a critical condition, but on Friday, July 24, as he was surrounded by his family, Jordan died.

His loved ones are receiving support from specialist officers at this difficult time, while a GoFundMe page set up by Jordan’s workmates for him and will now go to help them has now raised more than £700.

Today, Monday, July 27, Dominic Robson, of Birchwood, in South Hylton, Sunderland, will appear before South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court after he was charged with manslaughter.

The 26-year-old was originally arrested on suspicion of assault before being charged with the alleged offence over the weekend.

Meanwhile, officers have asked anyone who witnessed the disturbance on the night of July 10 to get in touch as investigations continue.

Detective Sergeant Katrina Moore, of Northumbria Police, said Jordan’s family had been devasted by what has happened and added: “these past two weeks have been a living nightmare for them.”

She said: “We still need to hear from anyone who may have witnessed what happened so if you can help then please get in touch.”

Jordan's family have asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.

The funding page has described Jordan as a “lovely quiet man.”

The page also said: "We are devastated and our love thoughts and prayers go out to his loving family at this sad time.

"We are continuing to raise funds for our Jordan, monies will go to his family.

"Please donate for our lovely, lovely friend.”
