A MAN has been left in a critical condition after a stabbing in Sunderland.
Police and paramedics were called after the 29-year-old was stabbed inside an address in Claremont Terrace.
Officers attended the address and arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of wounding. He is currently in police custody.
The victim was taken to the RVI hospital for treatment. He has since been moved to the Freeman where he is in a critical but stable condition.
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and there will be a visible policing presence in the area this morning.
