Man attacked in East Boldon pub car park

A MAN was knocked to the ground and beaten in an attack outside a village pub.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the 42-year-old man was assaulted at Sleepers in Station Approach, East Boldon, at about 10pm on Sunday.

The victim had been with friends when he was knocked to the ground in the and punched in the face and head by another man in the pub’s car park.

He suffered a broken ankle in the incident.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful wounding and is currently on bail pending further enquiries.
