Police officers arrested a man at an address in Hylton Road, Sunderland, on Sunday, July 5, shortly before 9pm.

The 33-year-old remains in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 following grooming.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “He remains in police custody at this time and enquiries are ongoing.”
