A COMPUTER scientist has been chosen as the latest candidate to become the region’s Police and Crime Commissioner.

Newcastle City Councillor Peter Andras will represent the Liberal Democrats in the November election.

The 41-year-old dad-of-two will be up against Labour’s Vera Baird and Tory Phil Butler for the powerful role, which will replace the police authority.
