LATEST NEWS: Pigeons stolen in Sunderland allotment raid

THIEVES broke into an allotment and snatched 15 pigeons.

Cornhill allotments in Southwick were raided overnight on Tuesday when thieves stole a number of items, including a lawn mower and the pigeons.

Officers have launched an investigation into the burglary at the Kier Hardy Way allotment and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Acting Inspector Kevin Warring said: “We are carrying out inquiries to trace those responsible for the break in and trace the items that were stolen.

“We would urge anyone with information or who may have seen something to contact police.”
